EPISODE FOUR: Sound Healing - Sustaining Wellbeing in Music
Music is a universal healer and connector, yet there is a hidden cost of providing that healing for those working in the industry. Australian musicians and industry professionals are five to ten times more likely to experience anxiety and depression than the general population (Support Act, 2019).
This panel explores how we might promote well-being from multiple perspectives - artist, industry and the individual, and examine the impact of media, industry and public expectations on those working in the creative arts, and how we can overcome them.
